Alice started pulling herself up last Monday. We thought it was going to be a while before she did this because she was showing no interest in trying to pull herself up. Then she just did it and now she pulls up all day long on everything she can! She’s got a few different pull up versions:
This is the “get me outta here” pull up!
This is called the “my diaper can’t hold me down” pull up!
And this is called the “it’s in here somewhere” pull up!
We’re up to no good today. A little snow/ice and we can’t go anywhere. But a good day to stay inside and post a couple Alice videos and pictures. She’s doing so much lately - shes very active, vocal and so much fun.
Alice’s first snow in North Carolina. She did see some in Virginia over Christmas.
Alice wrote this song just for Papa. Look for it on iTunes soon!
She can make music with her mouth too!
Nap through the video monitor.
This picture is from today. We’re are hanging out on the floor while Momma is getting dinner ready (White Chicken Chili). mmm..
Alice turned 8 months old yesterday. She is “talking” up a storm, sitting up on her own, crawling on all fours (the past two days she has really improved her crawling skills!), she has four teeth, and she is eating her fruits and veggies like a champ. She has a wonderful little personality and is such a happy baby. It doesn’t take much to make her smile. Most nights she either sleeps through the night or wakes up once to nurse, then goes right back to sleep. She loves to play with toys, to people watch, and to ride in her stroller.
Yesterday I took the day off to spend with Alice. We slept in a little bit .
We met Nana and Papa at Sun Valley Restaurant for breakfast.
We hit the mall. Alice had it made in her stroller.
Alice wrapped up the night by stripping down to her diaper with a onesie on her head. What could be better?
And this is just my favorite picture right now. We were shopping at Trader Joe’s and Alice gave us the stair-down. It was immediately followed by a big smile, but this look had Scott and I rolling.
Alice has lots of boyfriends (boys that are friends, that is!), and we’ve had a few play dates lately. First was Connor, who is only 11 days younger than Alice. He is a cutie and so funny when he scoots around on his elbows. Watch out Alice, you’re going to have to be fast to keep up with Connor!
And then we played with Judah, who just turned 1 year old last week. He’s a cutie pie also and Alice sure did enjoy playing with him. They took a ride in the wagon after dinner. I think they were both impressed with it’s smooth ride and dual drink holders!
Alice is developing quite the personality. She seems to do this whenever I say the word “Nana!” jk
Alice’s Grandma and Grandpa from Vermont visited recently. They had so much fun with her and I know she had fun with them. They can’t wait to see her again. My mother and Aunt will be visiting in February and then my parents will be going to Myrtle beach with us to celebrate Alice’s first birthday - but that’s not until May.
Alice likes hats. Isn’t she the coolest?
So Christmas is right around the corner and while my mother was visiting she got Alice her first stocking. April had “Alice” embroidered on it. Doozer has a stocking and so does April. Hey where’s mine!??
Christmas came a little early. I guess Nana and Papa couldn’t resist. Nothing but a big smile cruisin in her Radio Flyer.
Alice is definitely becoming her own little unique person. It’s funny to watch her develop a “personality”. Her first pose for our Thanksgiving picture will be a classic Alice moment. She loves to grab her feet. Then she gave in and looked at the camera.
I just LOVE it when she sleeps (always on her belly) and curls her knees up under her and crosses her ankles. So sweet.
And finally, this is a picture I found on my parents camera of Alice with my dad that is priceless. Babies sure can make some funny expressions.
I had to go to the doctors today and get my 6th month checkup and a few shots. They first made me take off all my clothes and put me on some scales. I’m a fatty - weighing in at 16 lbs, 5oz. I think its all in my legs. I have more rolls on my legs than my arms. After they weighed me the doctor came in and poked and proded me with a cold round thing. You know whats next. I had to get 3 shots. The shots don’t really bother me. I did so good that I only shed 1 tear. Afterward I looked at my parents and gave them the biggest smile. I think they were so proud of me. I love them so much. Here are a couple pictures. Me and my Momma waiting for the doctor and me and the doctor with the cold round thing. - ALICE
BOO! Last night was Alice’s first Halloween. She stayed up and helped hand out candy. We’ll dress her up next year and she’ll get to “trick or treat” for the first time (Yeah, candy for me!). Got any good costume ideas? Ladybug, Hotdog, Chicken, SpongeBob?
